Motorcyclist Killed in Corona Crash

A motorcyclist was killed after being involved in a crash Monday morning in the city of Corona. According to the Corona Police Department, the accident happened at 10:10 a.m. in the 1200 block of W. 6th Street. The victim was later identified as Rudy Villarreal Jr., 35, of San Bernardino.

According to witnesses, Villarreal was traveling west on Sixth Street when the driver of a commercial truck attempted to make a left turn in front of him, striking his motorcycle. Villarreal was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is still ongoing in order to determine all the factors that contributed to the fatal collision. Police stated that at this time it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved; however the driver of the truck has not been arrested. West 6th Street was closed for several hours in both directions between Lincoln and Sherman for the investigation. The street was reopened around 3:20 p.m.
